Come play this summer

These holidays, school playgrounds at 42 NSW public schools will be open for neighbours and others to enjoy under a NSW Government initiative to broaden community recreation and open space options. Schools in the program will be open from 8am to 6pm from 23 December to the end of the school holidays in late January. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. It is very important to go through the schedule with your child if they are involved in more than one photo. The children will need the correct clothing for each photo and be responsible for changing into the right uniform at the right time.... Read more

NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. Preparation for the new demountable administration block, classroom and movement of our canteen has started. Please be patient as this new building is put in. There will be great disruption to Oatley Park Ave on Monday 4th Sept. The crane and semi trailers will be arriving early with the 13 modules that will make up our long demountable building. A weekend of fun, rides, food and entertainment will be held this Saturday, 26 August and Sunday, 27 August from 10am – 4pm each day. This will be the 37th year for this major fundraising event for the Oatley West Public School and we hope you can make it! Opening night will be held on Friday, 25th August and tickets are still available to this great night out. The Oatley West canteen is being moved and will be closed for the rest of Week 4 and Monday, 14th August 2017. It will re-open on Tuesday 15th and will be located temporarily in the school hall. The menu will be scaled back to a basic menu and will be sent home on Friday 11th. The menu will return to normal when the canteen re-opens in its new location. Ed Week Open Day Photo


What a wonderful day we had with around 300 visitors to the school on 3.8.17. Special mention needs to go to our visitors including Edward Stone one of the first students to start at the school in 1947, his sister Rhonda Stephenson and her friend Anne McGregor who are still friends after starting at Oatley West Public School in 1949. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. It provides an opportunity for schools to become familiar with the NAPLAN Online assessment platform but is not an assessment of student ability.... Read more
